Intended learning outcomes
Kursniveau B1/b: Die Studierenden können alltägliche Situationen sprachlich bewältigen und ohne Vorbereitung an Gesprächen teilnehmen, deren Themen ihnen vertraut sind oder die sich auf aktuelle Ereignisse beziehen. Sie verstehen Texte, in denen gebräuchliche Alltags- oder Berufssprache vorkommt und können ihre Meinungen und Pläne kurz erklären und begründen. Erzählungen und deren Handlung könnenwiedergeben und die eigene Meinung dazu in einfachen Worten dargelegt werden

Kommunikativer Sprachunterricht mit Training der vier Sprachfertigkeiten (Sprechen, Schreiben, Hören, Lesen). Aussprachetraining.

Kursinhalte auf das intendierte Sprachniveau zugeschnitten und (teilweise) durch das verwendete Lehrbuch vorgegeben.

Course level B1/b: The students can manage most communication situations and participate without preparation in conversations which deal with common topics or current events. They understand texts written in everyday or job-related language and canexpress their opinions and plans with short explanations and reasons. They canreproduce stories and their meaning and add their own opinion in simply-worded summaries.
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
The teaching method is communicative and involves training in the four language skills (Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading) with additional pronunciation exercises.
Course content
The contents of the courses are appropriate to the level of the course. They are developed by utilizing adequate instructional materials that meet the needs of the participants to achieve the intended course level.

Informationen zur Teilnahme an Prüfungen
Die Prüfung gilt als angetreten und wird auf die Gesamtzahl der Prüfungsantritte angerechnet sobald
* bei mündlichen Prüfungen die erste Frage gestellt wurde,
* bei schriftlichen Prüfungen das Prüfungsdokument übernommen wurde,
* bei schriftlichen digitalen Prüfungen die Prüfungsfragen übermittelt wurden.
Die Prüfung ist selbständig, ohne die Hilfe Dritter und ohne die Verwendung unerlaubter Hilfsmittel abzulegen. Im Falle eines Verstoßes wird die Prüfung mit „nicht genügend“ beurteilt.
Wird die Prüfung ohne einen wichtigen Grund abgebrochen (näher dazu § 14 Abs. 6 Satzung Teil B)oder bei digitalen Prüfungen zudem die Prüfungsarbeit nicht innerhalb des vorgegebenen Zeitraumes wie vorgesehen übermittelt, dann wird diese Prüfung mit „nicht genügend“ beurteilt.
Sollten bei digitalen Prüfungen technische Probleme auftreten, ist unverzüglich Kontakt mit den Prüfer/inne/n oder Aufsichtspersonen aufzunehmen. Andernfalls gilt die Prüfung als abgebrochen und muss wiederholt werden!
Sollte die Web-Kamera während der Prüfung ausgeschalten sein, ausgeschalten werden oder aufgrund technischer Probleme eine bestimmte Zeit deaktiviert sein, gilt die Prüfung als abgebrochen und muss wiederholt werden.
Examination methodology
Der Lernerfolg der Teilnehmer/innen wird anhand von Zwischentests sowie eines Abschlusstests am Ende jedes Modul-Teils (3-Wochen-Intervall) ermittelt, dokumentiert und letztlich in der Endbeurteilung zusammengeführt. Die Teilnehmer/innen erhalten von den Lehrveranstaltungsleiter/inne/n regelmäßiges Feedback zu deren Lernfortschritt. Präsenzzeit von mindestens 80%, aktive Mitarbeit, Erledigung von Hausarbeiten sowie eine positive Beurteilung sind Voraussetzung für die Aufnahme in den jeweils nächsten Teil eines Moduls.

Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations
Die Zwischentests und Abschlusstests sind ähnlich aufgebaut wie der dem Kurs vorangegangene Einstufungstest. Sie orientieren sich an den Niveaustufen des Gemeinsamen Europäischen Referenzrahmens für Sprachen (GER). Überprüft werden die vorhandenen Fähigkeiten in Hörverstehen, Leseverständnis, selbständiger Ausdruck, Textbildung und Interaktion.

Information on taking exams
The exam is considered to have been taken and will be counted towards the total number of times the exam has been taken as soon as:
* for oral examinations, the first question has been asked,
* in the case of written examinations, the examination document has been transferred,
* in the case of written digital examinations, the examination questions have been transmitted.
The examination must be taken independently, without the help of third parties and without the use of unauthorized aids. In the event of a violation, the examination will be graded as "failed".
If the examination is discontinued without good cause (for more details, see § 14 Para. 6 of the Statutes, Part B) or, in the case of digital examinations, if the examination paper is not submitted within the specified period of time, the examination will be graded as " failed ".
If technical problems occur with digital examinations, the examiner(s) or supervisor(s) must be contacted immediately. Otherwise, the exam is considered aborted and must be repeated!
If the web camera is switched off during the examination, is switched off or is deactivated for a certain time due to technical problems, the examination is considered to be canceled and must be repeated.
Examination methodology
The learning success of the participants is determined, documented and finally combined in the final assessment by means of intermediate tests as well as a final test at the end of each module part (3-week interval). The participants receive regular feedback from the lecturers about their learning progress. At least 80% attendance, active participation, completion of homework and a positive assessment are a prerequisite for admission to the next part of a module.

Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations
The intermediate tests and completion tests are similar to the previous grading test. They are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The existing skills in listening comprehension, reading comprehension, independent expression, text formation and interaction are examined.
