Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Students will develop, practice and refine their ability to:

reflect on and adapt their own writing process
critically read and analyse academic essays
critically engage with their own and other students' texts
plan and outline academic essays
write coherent texts (from sentences to paragraphs and essays)

Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools

Group work, discussions, self-study, Moodle assignments (flipped classrooms), writing assignments in class and homework assignments (to be collected in a portfolio).

Inhalt/e

Some of the topics covered in this class include:

academic writing process
paragraph structure
essay structure and outlines
doing research
thesis statements
types of essays
essay analysis
using quotations appropriately
norms and conventions of academic writing

Literatur

Relevant literature and texts will be provided in class.
