LV-Beschreibung
Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Ever wondered why you can communicate in a noisy pub with a lot of background noise? Or read even when you have forgotten your glasses (if you need any)? Or follow a conversation when several people are talking at the same time? The answer is redundancy in language. We will be exploring this and see how redundancy, or reducing redundancy in a message, can be used to measure people's language proficiency.
You will understand the ways in which redundancy in language can be put to use for the purpose of measuring language proficiency and text difficulty.
You will be familiar with basic theoretical concepts underlying professional language testing.
You will understand the Common European Framework of Reference.
