Intended learning outcomes
Acquirean overview of and experience with methods for the design of measurement signalprocessing algorithms.
Course content
This course focuses on the processing of measurement data, in particular withrespect to sensors and measurement (also with respect to resource limited wireless sensors). The theory is applied to examples of mechatronic systems (thus it is recommended to also attend CAE of mechatronic systems). As a continuation, the course Robust Design and Reliability (offered in summer semester) extends the approaches towards system optimization.
Topics include:
Review of Probability Theory
Estimation theory (CRLB, MVUE, ML, BLUE, LS, MMSE, MAP, LMMSE)
Detection Theory (NP LRT, GLRT, ROC)
Applications (à Linked to CAE of mechatronic systems)
