Inhalt/e

The seminar will explore the “essay-film”as a form which enables to combine an intellectual complexity with the playfulness of the cinematic experience. It helps to touch upon complexq uestions, which usually need a greater study and research.

Looking at the work of Chris Marker andJean Luc Godard the seminar will also ask questions of how this form creates an access to the possibility of handling complexities of our time.

In the introductory lecture I will introduce surrounding ideas, followed by the explanation of the work of Godard and Marker, as well as reading and explaining the relative material.
