Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

Objective: familiarity with the most important questions of Union law

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Lecture style, active discussion and questions very much welcome, Case studies and ECJ case law willbe discussed in class.

Course content

Following an introduction of the basics of Union law, the fundamental freedoms of the internal market (free movement of goods, persons, services and capital) shall be presented. Subsequently, basics of EU competition law (in particular cartel law, abuse of a dominant position, state aid law) will be discussed.  Finally, the essentials of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) shall be delineated. Throughout the lecture, reference to the relevant case law of the ECJ shall be made.
