Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Discussion of current ongoing or recently completed socio-ecological research. Students have the possibility to participate in discussions of socio-ecological research at the current research frontier and experience how social ecologists pursue their intellectual advancements.
Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools
Presentation of members of the Institute of Social Ecology and of guests. Usually there are 2-3 presentations by guests and several presentations by members of the Institute of Social Ecology, including presentations by advanced doctoral students.
Recent related papers by the presenters are uploaded to the moodle course, thereby facilitating students to familiarize with the work of the respective scholars.

Inhalt/e
The full breadth of Social Ecology is covered, including social metabolism, land use and colonization of ecosystems; socio-ecological and sustainability transformations; integrated socio-ecological modelling as well as long-term socio-ecological research and environmental history.
The respective focus of the seminar changes each semester, depending on current research foci in the team and on the visiting researchers interested to share their recent research results.
Erwartete Vorkenntnisse
Knowledge of socio-ecological concepts and methods is useful to profit from the presentations and discussions. No formal admission criteria are enacted.
