Intended learning outcomes

Development of intercultural competence. Being able to reflect the situation of Expats 

Differ between Expats,Impats and other status of international employees. Knowing theoreticalapproaches to cultural dimensions. Knowing about the procedure in theonboarding process.

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Epistemic Approach ANDMeeting of Expats, Impats and their partners at the CIC Networking Session. Dateswill be given.

Course content

The course will provide a cosmopolitical view to the daily life inglobaloperating industrial companies in Carinthia and examinehowintercultural/transcultural aspects are handled within diversity managementinthose companies. Expats, Impats and their situation after relocation willbediscussed. For companies cultural diversity is crucial as heterogeneousteamsare the normality. Participants will learn about the implementationofintercultural tools in diversity management in companies and are expectedtounderstand the differences of transcultural, intercultural, pluraliculturalandmulticultural approaches. Locomotion records and biographies will giveaninsight into the situation of Expats and Impats. Group discussion will focusonthe advantages of intercultural competences.
