Course content

Hatespeech is the conscious, intentional public utterance of group derogatorycontents. Actually, it is a mean of producing communicatively a valuedifferentiation of human beings. This is the reason why it represents acommunication issue, not only a linguistic one. On this crucial point lies therelevance of analyzing not only what has been written or said, but also who issaying it, who is hearing it and in which media. Despite of that, hate speechhas been investigated mainly in the areas of linguistics and law. This courseaims to put this concept in the spotlight, presenting tools in order to defineit from a media perspective.
