Intendierte Lernergebnisse
- Students will be familiarized with the many facets of health in diverse contexts (fitness, wearables, advertising for pharmaceuticals or medical products, organizational health, media coverage of health/wellness/fitness topics).
- They will do independent research, choose a method that fits their topic, collect and interpret data
- They will work on their own mini-projects
- They will be familiarized with one/two method(s)
- They will present their preliminary findings during class, while including more detailed findings in their seminar papers or BA theses

Inhalt/e
Not only is there an increasing concern with health throughout the world, but also two other developments have led the health arena to grow in relevance:
- first,the scope of what health is has been broadened considerably, also integratingaspects of diet, fitness, and wellness amongst others;
- second,new technologies have altered how peopleperceive in health, opening up new opportunities for individuals to take anactive part in their health (care and management).
At the same time, the platforms for health communication have multiplied, offering companies more possibilities to disseminate information on their products/services.

Prüfungsinformationen
Im Fall von online durchgeführten Prüfungen sind die Standards zu beachten, die die technischen Geräte der Studierenden erfüllen müssen, um an diesen Prüfungen teilnehmen zu können.
Prüfungsmethode/n
- Working Groups (students will be divided into four groups and asked to research one the key topics)
- Individual Assignment: Interview (audio and transcipt) or questionnaire or case studies/content analysis
- Presentation (15 min)
- Final paper* (SE paper: 25 pp.; BA thesis: 32-40 pp.)
* Papers can be written in German.
