Course Information
Intended learning outcomes
Students are required to produce a portfolio of written texts which exemplify the different structures which are available to writers. Working on the process of close reading one's own text in order to reformulate a certain idea is a demanding task.
In addition, the social aspect of conversation is not neglected.
Finally, students hold a 10 - 15 minute presentation, followed by questions and engaging with the group afterwards.
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
Intense but friendly discussions, an ongoing dialogue. Feedback from the instructor on language questions.

Prior knowledge expected
To register for this class, students must first have passed English for Computing I, (557.101,2,oder 3). Informatik students will have priority. They are recommended to take the class in their 2nd semester (see Position im Curriculum below).
Literature
Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English or any equivalent English-English dictionary. Online dictionaries are useful, but tend to provide less additional, linguistic information.
