Intendierte Lernergebnisse

During the course, we will explore advanced concepts from the field of distributed computing, including Cloud computing and distributed applications development.

NOTE: For the completion of the practical part a 100 USD voucher will be provided to each student. Nevertheless, in order to be able to use the vouchers, Amazon requires usage of valid Credit card. The credit card will not be charged by Amazon. It is only needed for account validation.  


Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools

The course will be divided into three distinctive parts:

Classical lectures covering advanced concepts in Cloud computing, such as architectures, resource management and tasks scheduling. 

Hands-on tutorials covering multipleAmazon Web Services, such EC2,S3 and Lambda. (4 weeks + 1 week exam) 

Guided project development covering multiple advances aspects in the area of distributed and parallel computing. (14 weeks+ 1 week oral presentation and defense of the projects)

Prüfungsmethode/n

The grading of your work will be continuous and will depend on how efficiently you will achieve the so-called “milestones”. Additionally, the class activities will be taken into account.

Overall the grade will be formed as follows: 

- 10% class activity

- 90% milestones
