Intended learning outcomes
Students will familiarize themselves with the various forms and functions of discourse, will learn different methods to analyze discourse and will concretize and apply this theoretical and methodological knowledge on various types of discourse.
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Course content
- Introduction to Discourse (vs. Text vs. Communication vs. Conversation) in its written, spoken and online forms
- Methods of Discourse Analysis (Conversation Analysis, Gesprächsanalyse, Critical Discourse Analysis, Critical Discursive Psychology)
- Types of Discourse (Intimate Discourse, Professional / Institutional Discourse, Political Discourse, Computer-Mediated Discourse, Gendered Discourse)
