Intended learning outcomes
Main objective of the course is to explain this sensitive and highly interesting field of investor communications by providing theoretical background in combination with relevant practical examples.
Preferred methods are open interaction and discussion during the lesson and presenting knowledge about the current state of the art status in practice.

Course content
Investor Relations is an obligatory, essential and strategic communications discipline for publicly listed companies. Compared to Public Relations, which is mainly responsible for communication with media and journalists, Investor Relations represents an interface between the company and investors or other persons, who are interested in the economic situation of the company.
Therefore, the main target groups of an Investor Relations officer are, amongst others, shareholders, banks, analysts, rating agencies and economic journalist. Students of this course will get an overview about this sensitive and highly interesting field of corporate communications as well as obtain basic skills of Investor Relations topics.
Due to the fact that the ability to adapt to the volatile information environment and that adequate external communication is essential in the surrounding global corporate markets, this course is not only addressed to potential future Investor Relations experts, it is an interesting course for all students who will work in corporate communications.

- Basic knowledge of Investor Relations
- Fundamentals and skills of a good Investor Relations work
- Effective Investor Relations online communication (web 2.0, twitter, facebook etc.)
- No-go's of Investor Relations work
- Training on how to react if the company is in an economic loss situation or even in a crisis
