Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

Ability to critically interpret the evolution and main themes of Greek and Roman sculpture

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Face-to-face classes, with the use of visual aids through powerpoint presentations

Course content

Sculpture is an important field in the Art Historical Studies of the  Ancient world. The course aims to provide knowledge of the lines of development and main themes in the history of Greek and Roman sculpture. Learning takes place through analysis of the most significant original Greek sculptures, Roman copies or variants of Greek sculptures and original Roman sculptures. The course will include analysis of the cultural and social factors that produced them.
