Inhalt/e
New Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have brought aboutsignificant changes that do not leave organizations unaffected. Conditioned bythe rise of the Internet and internet-enabled services, organizational membershave multiple tools and services at their disposal to utilize during theirwork, including emails, chat messages (Mathiassen and Sorensen, 2008). The mainpurpose of ICTs is concerned with fostering collaboration and cooperation injoint-projects, while also elevating organizational performance. Newtechnologies’ main function thereby lies in enhancing interaction amongstindividuals and groups (Bobsin and Hoppe, 2015). They even create new forms ofnetworks, in which people holding common interests are linked and enabled toexchange and discuss ideas, share information, store knowledge etc. (Kempe et al., 2005; Ren et al., 2012; Lazazzara and Ghiringhelli, 2015).
The present class will discuss and familiarize students with the organizational changes brought about by ICTs in the following areas:
- Collaboration and Team Work
- Employee Learning and Empowerment
- Employee Engagement
