Course content

“High-performing organizations make employee communications a priority. They know an engaged workforce makes for a more successful organization. And to engage employees, they understand the need to communicate strategically with them.” (Sarah Boggess; Ragan.com). In addition, companies also have to position themselves as favorable employers, triggering the attention of potential applicants even before they start their job. In this context, employer branding becomes key. Employer branding thereby describes "the process of promoting a company, or an organization, as the employer of choice to a desired target group, one which a company needs and wants to recruit and retain".

The class tackles the umbrella topic of Employerism from both sides, addressing key topics like:

  • Employee-Organization Communication (internal communication)
  • Employee Alignment
  • Employee Trust
  • Employee Engagement / Employee Empowerment
  • Employer Branding (external communication)

etc.
