LV-Beschreibung
Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Students should become familiar with the formal aspects of business meetings. This requires them to be responsible for aspects of the agenda, for the particular business they wish to found, and for speaking up spontaneously, as required.
Negotiations are a particular case of meeting in which two groups or factions are seeking to reach agreement on an issue, in a way which would, potentially, benefit both parties. This requires discipline in following "the rules" of negotiations.
Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools
Following a period of discussion and exchange of ideas, students select partners with whom they wish to found a given business. From there, the writing of a business plan evolves, which requires attention to detail and to process. Students submit sections of their plan and then engage in discussion and clarification of their plan.
For the negotiations, students receive printed language materials to work on, based on abstract, negotiating functions and concepts. There is then a process of negotiation to set up an agreed one or two current topics, which should be worked on in the last month of the semester.
Inhalt/e
Students determine the business field they will work on. This then becomes the content of the business plan, the elements of which are presented stepwise.
Negotiating functions: acceptance/rejection, introduction/evasion, bargaining, applying pressure, stating a position, asking for more information, etc.

A corpus-based dictionary, online or paper, e.g. Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English, or The Longman Language Activator available in the self-access centre.
