LV-Beschreibung

Intendierte Lernergebnisse

In this class the focus is on language education rather than language learning. In other words, attention will be drawn to culture- and identity-related issues and how they may impact language learning processes. Moreover, the aim of this class is to suggest a timely concept for language- and culture-learning in the light of a world increasingly shaped by globalisation processes. In terms of content, both literary and non-literary texts will be discussed.

Lehrmethodik

In its structure the course is project based with a twin focus on theoretical concepts and concrete examples for classroom use.

Inhalt/e

(1) Identity construction and language learning;

(2) CLIL-teaching and inter/transcultural learning;

(3) Integrating language and cultural learning;

(4) Helping language teachers become (inter)cultural mediators;

(5) Discussing different paradigms for cultural learning (e.g. inter- and transculturality);

(6) Structuring experiential learning processes;

(7) Working with literary texts;
