Intended learning outcomes
This course will aim at introducing to the students the leading British women playwrights from the 1950s to the present. The playwrights and their work within the cover of this course will be examined with regard to their technical and thematic contributions to British drama and with respect to the feminist position they represent. Issues of gender, identity and sexuality will be part of the class discussions during the analysis of the selected play texts. At the end of the course, students will have gained an awareness of the women playwrights and their contribution to the development of British drama and will have been familiarised with their approach to their material.
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
- The course will be conducted through lectures, class discussions and student presentations. Students themselves are expected to obtain the plays to be studied.
