Intendierte Lernergebnisse

At the end of this course students will have acquired a broad knowledge of the topics mentioned above. This will serve as preparation for their practical teacher training and ultimately their careers as English teachers.

Inhalt/e

One of the great challenges teachers have to face every day is the selection and/or production of teaching materials, which allow for both successful learning processes as well as reliable and fair assessment. We will discuss the necessity of competency-based language teaching, analyze a variety of item formats and produce our own teaching materials, focusing on the receptive skills of reading and listening as well as the productive skills of writing and speaking. Their will also be room to have a closer look at how to teach grammar and vocabulary. In general, students will have the chance to deepen the theoretical knowledge already acquired in other classes by putting the theory into practice.

Lehrziel

- to enable future English teachers to both select and produce teaching materials suitable for different target groups - to offer theoretical and practical knowledge about how to test pupils in the various skills

Erwartete Vorkenntnisse

- attendance is mandatory - participants are required to contribute actively during the class meetings - self-study assignments as set by the course instructor
