Course structure: Group work, lecture, individual work, self-study.Conditions of admission
Since slots in the course are limited, students who have been admitted but do not take or complete the course will be graded with a 5 unless they provide an explanation the lecturer accepts. Conditions of admission: Preference is given to students of English (BA or teacher training). The course aims to assist the students in improving their proficiency in English across the four skills of speaking and listening, reading and writing. In addition to items of language, study and communication strategies are addressed.Teaching objective
Students have acquired extended proficiency both in language and in study skills.Prior knowledge expected

Two key volumes are available at the university bookshop: 1. McCarthy, Michael, and Felicity O’Dell. 2012. English Vocabulary in Use: Upper Intermediate ; Vocabulary Reference and Practice. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. 2. Hewings, Martin. 2013. Advanced Grammar in Use, A Self-Study Reference and Practice Book for Advanced Learners of English.
