In der Lehrveranstaltung werden die gängisten Persönlichkeitsansätze auf Basis ihrer geschichtlichen Herkunft, ihrer Validierungsgeschichte, ihrer theoretischen Einbettung und ihrer Einsatzmöglichkeiten in Wissenschaft und in der psychologsichen Praxis umfassend dargestellt und diskutiert.Teaching objective
Die Studierenden sollen nach Absolvierung des Proseminars in der Lage sein, die Persönlichkeitsansätze, die in der Psychologie für unterschiedliche Bereiche eingesetzt werden, theoretisch einzuordnen und sie hinsichtlich ihrer Einsetzbarkeit in der Forschung, aber auch in der psychologischen Praxis bewerten können.Prior knowledge expected

In the course, we will present and discuss the most current and established personality approaches in psychology. The focus will lie on their historical and theoretical embedment as well as their history of validation. Furthermore, we will elaborate their fields of application in science and psychological praxis.Teaching objective
After absolving this course, students should be able to integrate the discussed personality approaches in a theoretical way. Furthermore, they should be able to estimate the applicability of the personality approaches for research as well as psychological and/or psychodiagnostical questions.Prior knowledge expected
