Course content

I- Introduction to Traffic Simulation, Management and control. II- Overview of traffic Simulation models III- Overview of traffic Management, Control and Optimization Systems/tools (Synchro7, Cube5, Vissim, Visum, Spot, Utopia, Transyt, Sidra, SCOOT, SCAT, etc.) IV- Lab. 1: Simulation of Queuing Systems using MATLAB V- Lab. 2: Simulation of „Car-following“ model using SIMULINK VI- Lab. 3: Simulation of ODEs and PDEs models for traffic flow on Highways using MATLAB/SIMULINK VII- Lab. 4: Simulation of ODEs using ANNs VIII- Lab. 5: Simulation of Traffic scenarios using „SYNCHRO-7“ IX- Lab. 6: Algorithms of optimization in MATLAB (See Optimization tool-boxes) X- Lab. 7: Modeling and Simulation of Logistic scenarios using „VENSIM“.  Small project on one of the themes addressed GRADING • 30%: Presence + participation in class • 20%: Small project • 50%: Final exam at the end of the semester
