Intendierte Lernergebnisse

This seminar is research oriented and scientifically founded. It provides the students with the tools and methods for a successful professional career and ensures a high degree of competence. The students will be capable of completing independent research based on self-initiative, analytical thinking, reflexive thinking, social competences, responsibility, free judgment and a critical mind.

Lehrmethodik

The seminar guides students through the following steps: - Selection of a topic and research questions (and hypotheses) - Thorough review of the relevant literature about the topic selected - Presentation of research questions and hypotheses, its rationale and significance, the empirical strategy that the student envisions for answering that question, and information about the empirical data available for answering the research questions and hypotheses - Discussions on proposed ideas - Writting the research proposal - Independent work with coaching - Thorough revisions of the research proposal and further work on the relevant secondary literature

Inhalt/e

This seminar prepares the students to realistically design a research project by writing and presenting a research proposal, which ideally is related to the Master´s Thesis topic.
