Media and Communication theories, approaches and research fields M. Karmasin: Media Impact/Effects Research - How are media (media messages) perceived by recipients? - How do media (media messages) appeal to recipients? - Natural-Sciences-Context: behaviorism, conditioned behavior - Social-Sciences-Context: Public Relations, Advertising, Propaganda (Empirical Studies) - Psychological-Context: consequences, information processing (Experiments) F. Weder: Media and communication theories: An Introduction L. Krainer: Ethics in Communication and Media Rights and responsibilities of the media can be discussed in the wider context of human rights. On the one hand there is the "right of freedom of opinion and expression" (the right to freedom of speach) on the other hand, there are its limits, like the right to privacy. In between there are several ethical questions. Media and communication ethics discuss them.Examination information
