Schlagworte
Methods between natural, social and historical sciences; environmental historyLehrziel
You will get to know important source types and the methods needed for working with them. You will analyze environmental history literature using a variety of sources and methods. In your study group, you will research the methods and get a basic understanding of their principles, application and limits. You will present your findings orally and use the feedback to improve your manuscript on the methods. You will present the guiding questions of the research you study and put this into the context of other work on the same issues. Under tutoring by the seminar leaders, your group will write two short (5 pages each) reports on the methods and on research questions. Your final presentation will summarize your findings and make suggestions on alternative methods to tackle the research questions with and/or on other topics that could meaningfully be researched using the methods you have identified.Erwartete Vorkenntnisse
