Lecture mode + active participation. Students are required to prepare the topics at home in the form of prep. reading and exercises.

Inhalt/e

This introduction to linguistics offers students a first insight into the various areas of English linguistics and familiarizes them with how language and communication function. Both, the form of English and the functions of English will be considered.

Lehrziel

After completing the course, students should be familiar with the basic notions, concepts and definitions of English linguistics and should have a general grasp of how language and communication function.
