This course

Lehrmethodik

Aufnahmebedingungen

Students need to have passed Language 2, Writing 2, Reading 1 and Speaking 1.

Inhalt/e

Students will practise the four skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing at a level appropriate for taking the final Fachprüfung.

Themen

  • Students will critically examine a range of written and aural texts, discussing ideas and vocabulary in a lively atmosphere.
  • They will experiment with creative writing based on various prompts. Listening activities include making notes from and debating issues raised from a listening text.
  • We will read prose and poetry, investigating new vocabulary and the use of style.
  • Students will talk about the people, ideas, objects, art, music, books, films and so on which they most value, now and from the past.
  • The group will also produce contributions to the next edition of the institute's online magazine 'ThinkTank'.
  • These may be prompted by the discussions, reading, listening and writing they have started in class.

Lehrziel

The aim of this course is to strengthen the four key language skills, so that students may feel equipped to attempt the final examinations in English.

Erwartete Vorkenntnisse

Students should be in their final semesters of university study.
