Course content
The two lectures "Mobile Communications" (Mobilkommunikation) and "Wireless Networks" (Drahtlose Netze) give a bottom-up introduction to the area of mobile and wireless communication systems. The main goal is to give a fundamental understanding of the principles behind wireless transmission and networking. Current technologies, such as UMTS, LTE and IEEE 802.11, are used as examples to explain these principles. Moreover, a whole chapter is dedicated to ad hoc networks. The lectures are complemented by group projects, whose results are discussed in class and tutorial courses with exercises.Topics
