Lecture, programming, reading, discussionInhalt/e
Implementation of graphical user interfaces and discussion of qualitative aspects (Usability Engineering)Themen
- Introduction - Interaction with everyday devices
- Building classic user interfaces
- Fundamentals of User Interfaces (UIs)
- The Human User
- UI Architectures and Modeling
- Design of Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs)
- Introduction to Usability Engineering
Lehrziel
To give undergraduate students an introduction to the field of HCI / Interactive Systems, and to provide an understanding of aspects related to both, the human user and to the computer when interaction takes place. At the end of this course you will: * be aware of Human-Computer Interaction as a field, both historically and w.r.t its future trends. * have a basic knowledge and understanding of the cognitive processes that take place when a human interacts with a computer (system). * know the fundamentals of how to design graphical user interfaces that are easy to use and that meet the human user’s needs. * have developed practical skills in building classical graphical user interfaces in Java (complementing »ESOP« and »OOP«).Erwartete Vorkenntnisse
