Course Information
Intended learning outcomes
This seminar is an excellent opportunity to learn about the concepts of self-organizing systems and to discuss about newest research results in a small group. This seminar is held in English. Students from all disciplines are welcome.
Goals
- Learn about self-organizing systems
- Improve (non-Powerpoint) presentation skills
- Learn about the review process of a conference system
- Improve your writing skills
Teaching methodology
Schedule
- Read papers from reading list
- Select one paper from second list
- Present this paper in front of group
- Make literature research to find other related papers
- Select one of these on your own and present
- Write short report 5-6 pages on the two papers, refer to others
- submit paper in conference system
- review two other reports (anonymously)
- Improve your report based on reviews and submit final version
Course content
The topic covers swarm robotics, applications of swarm algorithms, and networking effects. We will look into the newest developments but also investigate classic papers.
Literature
Basic literature will be provided during class and via moodle.
