Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe

  • There are 13 sessions of 50 minutes.
  • Assignment points (24 points)
    • The assignments are handed out via Moodle approximately a week before the session.
    • Until 16:30 on the day of the exercise class, you may select online any problem that you have completed. You have then indicated both your thorough understanding and your willingness to present any problem you have selected. When we are ready to discuss a given problem during class, the presenting student will be selected randomly.

    • For the assignment points, your best 11 sessions are counted. For each session, the number of points you receive equals 24/11 ≈ 2.1819 times the number of solved problems (as indicated by your selections) divided by the number of problems discussed in that session.

    • In case of honor code violation (e.g. selecting problems without showing up for class, selecting problems without having solved and understood it), all assignment points of the semester are multiplied by 3/4 (in geometric sequence in case of repeated violation) and/or all points of the corresponding session are deleted.
  • Presentation points (8 points)
    • Each presentation is worth 4 points. The points for each presentation are added as follows: The best presentation fully counts, the second best presentation counts half, the third best presentation counts a third and so on.
    • Points are awarded for correctness, clarity, brevity, originality, etc.

  • Quiz points (18 points)
    • At the beginning the following sessions, a short quiz of approximately 10 minutes will take place:

      • November 7 (4 points),

      • December 5 (6 points),

      • January 23 (8 points).

    • The quizzes each consist of a short exercise from the material covered in the previous exercise sheets.
  • For a positive grade, the students have to obtain at least 12 assignment points and 8 quiz points. In this case, the grade is calculated from the sum s of the assignment points, the presentation points and the quizz points as follows:
    Sum of points s
    Grade
    44 ≤ s ≤ 50
    Sehr gut (1)
    38 ≤ s < 44
    Gut (2)
    31 ≤ s < 38
    Berfriedigend (3)
    25 ≤ < 31
    Genügend (4)
    0 ≤ s < 25
    Nicht Genügend (5, failed)
  • Unregistration is possible until October 31. After this date, students get a grade in any case.
