Intendierte Lernergebnisse
By the end of this course students should be able to:
· present themselves well professionally
. understand and accurately use a broad range of subject-specific vocabulary, studied both in class and at home
· prepare and deliver an engaging and informative presentation
· write a well-structured email in English accurately, applying the vocabulary and grammar studied throughout the course
Lehrmethodik
Presentations, homework tasks, extensive self-study, listening, writing and speaking assessments.
Inhalt/e
This foundation course aims to develop students’ ability to communicate effectively in the English-speaking workplace.
Skills that will be developed throughout this course are:
- presentation skills
- telephone skills
- writing skills (focus on emails and CVs)
- grammar (including tense and aspect, pronouns and adverbs)
- subject-specific vocabulary
Topics that will be covered throughout this course include:
- self marketing (presentation to potential employers)
- inquiries for open positions (by telephone)
- job interviews
- professional CVs (international versions) and
- e-mails
IMPORTANT: as part of this course might be held online, students must have access to a working microphone and camera on their devices
