Intendierte Lernergebnisse
1) Students will demonstrate an enhanced comprehension of English terminology commonly utilized in academic contexts in Psychology, as evidenced by their ability to accurately identify, explain, and use such terminology in relevant discussions and written assignments.
2) Students will exhibit increased familiarity with the application of English academic terminology, showcasing their skills through improved academic writing and oral presentations that effectively employ appropriate terms and concepts.
Lehrmethodik
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
Audio-visual presentation, discussion, readings (psychological research articles), in-class activities, discussion of assignments.
Tools and strategies to self-improve writing and presentation skills will be discussed and provided on Moodle.
Inhalt/e
This course is designed to introduce students to the English terminology commonly used in psychology. With the majority of psychological research published in English, understanding this terminology is essential for engaging with the field. This language is a key part of sharing and spreading psychological knowledge. Moreover, mastering this terminology is crucial for networking and collaborating with peers internationally, opening doors to global opportunities and interdisciplinary projects. Through examples from journal articles and conference presentations, this introductory course aims to enhance students' familiarity with the specific English vocabulary used in psychology, preparing them to better understand, contribute to, and collaborate within the psychological community on an international scale.
