Course Information
Intended learning outcomes
English for Computing is a language driven by the development of technologies that are changing the nature of human interaction in our society, and across the world. The ability to participate in this development, to make oneself understood first and foremost, but increasingly the ability to describe the concepts that underpin these developments, require strong language skills and clear attention to language accuracy.
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
The course focuses on written and oral forms of communication. Grammar reviews will be included as necessary.

The content is based on current issues in computing that are relevant to personal and public use of computers, including, but not limited to, the follow themes:
- computers and society
- the Dark Net
- digital revolution
- social media
- sustainability
- artificial intelligence
- BYOD
- mobile security
- automation
- the future
