LV-Beschreibung

Intendierte Lernergebnisse

This course offers an interdisciplinary space for doctoral students to discuss their ongoing research and research ideas with fellow doctoral students and their supervisors. By drawing on multi-disciplinary expertise, doctoral students and their research projects benefit from receiving input from within their own discipline as well as input based in expertise from other disciplines.

Lehrmethodik

The doctoral colloquium is offered every semester and participants are expectedto enroll in one winter colloquium and one summer colloquium each. The seminar is strongly presentation/discussion-based and caters to the needs of the doctoral students. In one semester they present their own research in the colloquium, in the other semester they take on the moderation and discussant role for a PhD colleague (or vice versa).

Inhalt/e

The D!ARC network provides an interdisciplinary seminar for doctoral students who work on topics in theresearch area of Humans in the Digital Age. Participants are expected to present their ongoing research or specific research ideas in a manner of their ownchoosing. Depending on the current phase of their research, they can, e.g.,present their initial research ideas and research plan, explore new avenues fordata collection, interpretation or analysis, or discuss their findings. Furthermore, participants are expected to take over the moderation/discussantrole for a presenting colleague, introduce the colleague, moderate the discussion and prepare 1-2 questions in advance. In this way participantsstrengthen their skills in making their research accessible formulti-disciplinary audiences at a high level and also gain experience in productively commenting on the works of colleagues, from their own and other disciplines.
