LV-Beschreibung

Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Detailed instructions on how this class is going to function are going to be provided by your lecturers.

Please check course description, Discord, Moodle and  AAU inboxes regularly for updates.

Students completing this class will be familiar with important terminology/tools in practical game engineering, and will be able to apply this knowledge to practical design processes. Personal skills will be honed. The advantages of organized teamwork will be underlined as well.

Lehrmethodik

A large part of the course is held as a game jam, where we expect you to participate actively! The game jam will take place in Dec, 2023 (Dec. 15-17). Digital and on campus get-togethers are the tool of communication throughout this period.

For preparation: 2 mandatory "mini game jams" will take place in Nov. 2023.

Inhalt/e

Converting ideas into games that people want to play is one of the hardest and most demanding tasks in the development cycle.

This course introduces students to the craft of designing computer and video games through a game jam, which will be held on campus and partially online. Within 48 hours: create, test and talk. From an idea to a playable prototype.

Please expect two to three meetings ("mini game jams") for the course before the game jam in Dec. A schedule will be announced at the beginning of November 2023.
