Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Students understand and can apply key concepts of international trade and international monetary economics. Successful completion of this class allows appropriate assessment of policy developments such as Brexit, European (dis)integration and protectionism.


Lehrmethodik

Lecture along the textbook by Krugman/Obstfeld/Melitz. 

Additional topical material from the Financial Times and The Economist will be provided to highlight the practical relevance of the subject.

Selected chapters of: International Economics: Theory and Policy, Paul R. Krugman, Maurice Obstfeld, Marc Melitz, Pearson Addison-Wesley. Any recent edition of this textbook is suitable.

The exam consists of 15x4 statements which have to be assessed as either true or false. For passing a score of at least 42 is required.
