Intendierte Lernergebnisse
By the end of this course, students should:
- be able to actively and accurately use the business-specific vocabulary and phrases that have been studied in class and at home;
- have deepened their understanding of, and ability to produce, a range of grammatical structures;
- have the skills needed to follow and contribute extensively to a meeting on a pre-assigned topic;
- be able to conduct negotiations effectively, using a range of phrases studied both in class and at home.

Group and individual work, extensive self-study, vocabulary assessments, speaking and writing tasks and assessments.
Inhalt/e
Skills that will be developed throughout this course are:
- ability to participate confidently and effectively in a meeting,
- ability to negotiate,
- writing skills (awareness of formal/informal differences),
- reading skills (case studies, news articles),
- grammar (including tense and aspect, prepositions and relative clauses),
- subject-specific vocabulary (with a focus on phrasal verbs and idiomatic expressions).
Erwartete Vorkenntnisse
General English proficiency on B2+ level.

25% Vocabulary and Grammar test
25% Written report
25% Speaking exam
25% Class contributions (throughout the semester)
MIND a: All four pillars of assessment need to be positive for an overall pass.
MIND b: Academic dishonesty leads to a failing grade.
MIND c: Additional oral exams can be set individually to validate results of written work where authorship is dubitable.
