Building on your knowledge of principles of Language Testing and Assessment, Linguistics and Language Teaching Methodology you will
- become familiar with the difference between summative and formative assessment
- explore the nature of error as a feedback trigger
- explore and reflect on different approaches to giving formative feedback
- become familiar with the Scope - Substance error taxonomy and apply it with authentic student writing performances
- practice giving feedback on authentic student writing performances using the Scope - Substance error taxonomy
Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools
Blended learning. Power point with audio and video track for theoretical input. Discussion of input in BBB groups and plenary or on site. Group work for developing feedback on writing performances. Presentation of feedback given on one authentic writing performance online or on site.

Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe
- give a group presentation on learning points and take-away messages for practice following the guidelines for presentations discussed in class
- engage in group and plenary discussions (observation by course instructor)
- give feedback on one student writing sample that you are assigned and document your thoughts and the actual feedback in a reflection paper (see file reflection paper and assessment criteria for reflection paper for detail).
