LV-Beschreibung

Intendierte Lernergebnisse

As part of the MEd Lehramt/English programme, this course addresses the advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the standards and concepts related to communicative language competences (linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic). Students will analyse in detail the advanced stages of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Through thorough examination of these standardised tests, students will assess and improve their own as well as their peers’ linguistic and communicative competences. Furthermore, by increasing awareness of lexis (register) and pragmatics (e.g. politeness, context), students will deepen their understanding of how we communicate and create meaning. By using an analytical approach to formal and functional grammar as well as by focusing on text production and reception, students will be given the opportunity to enhance their language skills.
