Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Students get entry-level practical experience in selected topics of media informatics

Lehrmethodik

Lab sessions are used to work in groups of two or three on given exercises. 

These exercises - including an explanation of how the results were achieved - must be uploaded to Moodle in the provided time frame to get points.

Smaller homework assignments need to be uploaded individually between the labs.

  • Signal processing and basic video compression topics
  • Video compression
  • Basic programming (Python) 
  • Information retrieval
  • Video streaming
  • Video Networking
  • Simulation

There is no prior knowledge required for this class.

Im Fall von online durchgeführten Prüfungen sind die Standards zu beachten, die die technischen Geräte der Studierenden erfüllen müssen, um an diesen Prüfungen teilnehmen zu können.

Prüfungsmethode/n

Continuous assessment in the labs in groups as well as the homework assignments.

Lab exercises as described above.

Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe

Assessment based on three pillars:

  • Active participation in class (20%)
  • Individual Submissions (30%)
  • Group work (50%)

All pillars have to be graded positively to pass the class.
