LV-Beschreibung
Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Erwartete Vorkenntnisse

Students have an in-depth understanding of methods and applications in the field of nonlinear systems theory. Complementing their basic knowledge in this subject area, students are able to apply advanced methods for system modeling, analysis and controller synthesis.
Lehrmethodik
Lecture with integrated exercises
Inhalt/e
Mathematical models of nonlinear systems, fundamental differences between the behavior of linear and nonlinear systems: equilibria, limit cycles and general invariant regions in the state space, Lyapunov stability, Lyapunov functions.
Analysis of simple nonlinear control loops and synthesis methods for nonlinear control loops: Input-output linearization, control Lyapunov functions, integrator backstepping, and passivity-based control.
A summary of methods for system observation of nonlinear systems, in particular: nonlinear observability, nonlinear Luenberger observer, extended Kalman filter and high-gain observer completes scope of the lecture.
