Prüfungsinformationen

Im Fall von online durchgeführten Prüfungen sind die Standards zu beachten, die die technischen Geräte der Studierenden erfüllen müssen, um an diesen Prüfungen teilnehmen zu können.

Prüfungsmethode/n

Solving the exercises, presenting them in the class, three tests during the semester (see below).

Exercises based on the topics learnt at the lecture.

Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe

The grade is based on homework presentations and three short tests.

Every week, an exercise sheet will be published on Wednesday or Thursday. The students will express their readiness to present solutions by marking the numbers of problems in the Kreuzesystem. During the class, students will present the solutions. For every problem, one of the students who declared it as solved will be asked to present the solution. Every presentation will be graded from 0 to 4 (0 if no solution is given, 4 for a very good solution). The average of these grades, multiplied by 4, makes the "presentation points" (at most 16 points).

In the course of the semester, three tests will be given. The dates of the tests: 14 November, 12 December,  30 January, during the class. The tests will mainly consist of problems similar to those from homework. For every test, the highest possible grade will be 28.

The sum of presentation points and the grades for the three tests will make the pre-final grade of at most 16+28+28+28=100 points.

In order to pass the course, a student should
1. collect at least 10 presentation points (out of maximally possible 16),
2. collect at least 8 points at every test (out of maximally possible 28),
3. mark as solved at least two problems in each exercise sheet.

In this case, the pre-final grade will be converted into the final grade as follows:

[60 – 70) → acceptable (4)
[70 – 80) → satisfactory (3)
[80 – 90) → good (2)
[90 – 100] → very good (1).

Active participation in discussions might give a bonus if the pre-final grade is very slightly below the separating value.
