Intendierte Lernergebnisse

In this course participants discuss and experience different ways of writing and working together in writing projects.
This course for incoming students aims to strengthen and train intercultural competences, writing and text competences, as well as technical aspects of cooperation and collaboration.

For this purpose, the participants will discuss forms of cooperation and collaboration, discuss, reflect on, train and apply writing skills for collaborative writing, as well as test, evaluate and select technical tools for collaborative writing projects. By the end of the semester, the participants create a collaborative writing project (portfolio), in which they reflect on their individual writing competences and highlight the experiences of writing together.

 

Learning Outcome 

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to describe group dynamics and intercultural aspects of collaboration. They will be able to differentiate writing skills in general and in collaborative writing projects, as well as to apply tools and programmes for collaboration and cooperation for their own projects. At the end of the course, students will have successfully realised a collaborative writing project.

Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools

Writing workshops with individual, collaborative, and cooperative writing tasks.
All eLearning-Tools are provided via the platform Moodle.

Inhalt/e

The course is structured into six workshops, partially held directly at university of Klagenfurt, partially held as live online workshops:

  • In-class workshop on „Cooperation & Collaboration”: group dynamics & working together in peer groups
  • In-class workshop on „Writing Together”: writing and text competences – in general and in collaborative writing projects; formats and tools of co-working; start of the collaborative writing project (portfolio)
  • Online workshop „Toolkit for Writing Together”: technical aspects of collaboration and cooperation, tools & applications
  • Online workshop „Intercultural Aspects of Writing Together”
  • Online workshop „Writing, Feedback & Time Management “: time for the writing project, coaching and feed-forward
  • In-class workshop „Presenting Portfolio”: final presentation of the collaborative writing projects

Various writing tasks during the semester and final collaborative writing project

Prüfungsinhalt/e

Requirements for successful completion of the course are:

  • 30%: Attendance and active participation during workshops
  • 30%: Individual assignments in and out of class: reflections, writing assignments, feedback exercises
  • 40%: Collaborative writing project: portfolio
