Course Information
Intended learning outcomes
Students will...
- learn the basics of Usability/User Experience Processes;
- deal with methods that can be applied during the process;
- perform a sample project to collect practical experiences in the application of "Human Centered Design" ;
- prepare for follow-up Projects in the field of interactive systems (e.g. Praxissemester, Diploma Thesis)
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
Lectures and assignments/ example projects
Course content
- Human Computer Interaction Basics
- Process Models of Human Centered Design Processes
- Methods to be applied to ensure usability and user experience: e.g. focus groups, usability tests, contextual interviews and their application
- Prototyping: Design methods and tools (Pencil, Adobe XD, Ionic Framework)

Possibilities of applying HCI in a Human Centered Design Process on the basis of a practical example. Grading is based on the submission of an implementation and evaluation of an application prototype.
