Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

During the course, we will explore advanced concepts from the field of distributed computing, including: 

1. Service Oriented Architectures: The Computing  Continuum,

2. Big Data Processing,

3. Distributed Storage Management, 

4. Resources Management, Coordination and Performance Analysis, 

5. Serverless and In-memory computation.  


Teaching methodology

The course will be divided into five blocks, corresponding to the topics listed above. Each of the blocks will enclose a classical lecture and two proseminars. 

Course content

The course will cover advanced topics in distributed systems with a main goal to prepare the students for the next generation paradigms, such as the Internet of Things.
