Intendierte Lernergebnisse
The aim of this course is to give you an opportunity to get hands on with cryptanalytic attacks exploiting side channels.
Lehrmethodik
Pre-recorded videos, slides and lecture notes, interactive slots.
Inhalt/e
Side channels of all forms and how to exploit them to break systems. Programming examples/exercises use C and Python.
Erwartete Vorkenntnisse
You must have a good awareness of the role of cryptography and the challenges of engineering cryptography securely. Our running cipher example will be AES (a vanilla and a "secure implementation").
Thus you should have either attended: Cryptography/Crypto Engineering/Systemsicherheit (BSc) OR Introduction to Cybersecurity (MSc).

Prüfungsmethode/n
You can gather points by submitting solutions to small lab sheets and small projects. The overall grade is then determined by the number of points that you collected.
