Intended learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will develop knowledge as well as an understanding about managing innovations. Along with understanding innovation processes in general, students will also be able to comprehend innovation in the contexts of social value creation and R&D internationalization.

Chapter 1: "WHAT AND WHY" - • Introduction to innovation: Definitions, process, types • Special topics: Digital and social innovation • Search strategies for innovation
Chapter 2: "HOW: PRODUCT, PROCESS AND PARTNERS" - • New product and service development • Open innovation and collaboration • International R&D: Motives, R&D alliances, R&D models, product adaptation • Exploiting intellectual property
Chapter 3: "HOW: ORGANIZATION" - • Innovation strategy • Organizational capabilities for innovation • Special topic: Framework for sustainable innovation

The course is primarily based on the textbook Managing Innovation: Integrating Technological, Market and Organizational Change by Joe Tidd and John Bessant, 7.ed (2020), Wiley. Other selected readings will also be used in the lecture. All literature will be announced at the beginning of the course.
